The basics
What is Hollrs?
A community platform where people post what they actually think, in video, voice or text, and brands and organisations turn up to answer. You scroll a feed, search Discover for topics and places, and join Huddls to talk it through with people who had the same experience.
What is a hollr?
A hollr is your opening statement of opinion. Posting one filters you into a Huddl with other people raising the same issue, so a single problem reads as one clear signal rather than a hundred scattered complaints.
What is a Huddl?
A Huddl is a group conversation about a shared issue. Everyone filtered in by their hollr can see it and take part, and Associate Users, which is what we call business accounts, are invited to respond directly in there.
Does it cost anything?
No. Hollrs is free for people and there are no ads. Your mobile carrier's usual data charges apply when you use the app.
Where do I get the app?
It is on the App Store and Google Play.
Posting
Who can see what I post?
Anything you post can be seen by other Users. Only post things you are content to share. Other people see your username, how long you have been a member and any badges you have earned.
Can I post with video or voice rather than typing?
Yes, and it is the point. Thirty seconds of talking carries what you actually meant, tone and all. Typing it out flattens it, and most people do not bother.
Is anything moderated?
Yes. Posts and comments are moderated. Anything defamatory, abusive or profane is removed. If a post is genuine but one sentence is too strongly worded, we may remove that sentence rather than the whole post. We never add words of our own.
Can a brand get my post taken down because they do not like it?
No. We will not remove a negative post just because a business asks us to. If we judge it a fair account, it stands. The business can reply publicly or message you directly instead.
How do I report something?
Use the report abuse button in the app or on the website. Include the account, the post and roughly when it happened. For anything involving a child, see our child safety standards.
Your account and data
Do you sell my data?
No. You own your information. We only share it if you have given permission, if we have told you about it in the privacy policy, or once your name and anything else identifying has been stripped out. Businesses get anonymous analysis, not your personal details.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile then Profile Settings. Or use the form on the delete account page.
What happens to my posts when I delete my account?
We remove all personal data. We keep anonymous usage and demographic data for analysis. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
What if I forget about it and stop using it?
We may deactivate accounts after a long period of inactivity.
For organisations
We are a brand. How do we get on Hollrs?
Arrange a chat and we will set you up with an Associate account and your own Huddl. Existing associates sign in at associate.hollrs.com.
Who owns the content we post as a business?
You do. Copyright and intellectual property in material posted by an Associate User stays with the Associate User and is not transferred to Hollrs.
